Currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Forest Engineering at the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri (UFVJM), I develop activities integrating teaching, research, and extension with a focus on sustainability, applied biotechnology, and environmental education. Throughout my career, I have worked at the intersection of science and social impact, developing university extension projects aimed at agroecological education, sociocultural appreciation, and social innovation. My initiatives include teacher training, implementation of sustainable practices in rural communities, and the development of accessible ecological technologies, fostering a stronger connection between universities and society. In applied research, I coordinate studies on forest biotechnology, soil microbiology, and sustainable management at the Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory at UFVJM, always in close collaboration with the training of highly qualified human resources. I am also an editorial reviewer for scientific journals and an active member of research and extension networks, consolidating strategic partnerships focused on innovation and regional development. My academic output and experience in projects funded by CNPq, FAPEMIG, and CAPES reflect a commitment to applied knowledge construction, seeking to strengthen sustainable practices and innovative methodologies that can be replicated across different contexts. Over the years, my work has been characterized by interdisciplinarity and the pursuit of solutions that integrate science, social technology, and community development, promoting environmental education, sustainable income generation, and the preservation of traditional knowledge. This work has directly impacted rural and quilombola communities, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reinforcing university extension as a tool for reducing inequalities and fostering citizenship. Key Highlights: 1) Social and Technological Impact: Development of strategies for environmental education, agroecology, and sustainability in rural and quilombola communities. 2) Innovative University Extension: Methodologies applied to teacher, student, and farmer training, expanding the reach of academic knowledge. 3) Academic Output and Human Resource Training: Active participation in research and extension projects, student supervision, and collaboration with national networks. 4) Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships: Engagement with public and private institutions to strengthen social and technological innovation. 5) Relevance for Public Policies: Contributions to sustainable practices in environmental education and agroecological teaching. Future Goals: To deepen and expand interdisciplinary actions in teaching, research, and extension, consolidating sustainable and innovative practices that contribute to strengthening environmental education, agroecology, and sustainable regional development.
