Evorah Cardoso holds a Ph.D. (2012) and a Master's degree (2008) in Legal Sociology from the Department of Philosophy and General Theory of Law at the Law School of the University of São Paulo, where she also obtained her undergraduate degree (2005). She is a professor in the International Relations program at FECAP (since 2016), research and advocacy coordinator at the NGO VoteLGBT (since 2022), and a researcher at the Law and Democracy Center of the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning CEBRAP (since 2004). She conducts research in the field of political representation and social mobilization for rights defense.She has previously led research projects on topics such as gender equality, race, children and adolescents, media, and the criminal justice system for the National Council of Justice, Ministry of Justice, Special Secretariat for Women's Policies, and the City Hall of São Paulo. She has worked as a research consultant for non-governmental organizations on subjects including business and human rights and pro bono advocacy at Conectas Human Rights (2013-2015), Eqüit Institute (2015), Pro Bono Institute (2016), and as a professor and coordinator at the School of Training of the Brazilian Society of Public Law (SBDP) (2006-2016), covering topics such as the Federal Supreme Court and constitutional law.She was a scholarship recipient from FAPESP, CAPES, and DAAD during her postgraduate studies and a visiting researcher at research centers in Argentina (Institute of Legal and Social Research Ambrosio Gioja at the University of Buenos Aires), Colombia (Center for Socio-legal Research at the University of the Andes), and Germany (Lateinamerika-Institut at the Free University of Berlin).Furthermore, she has dedicated herself to social projects focused on women's rights, LGBTQIA+ issues, and political participation. She is a member of the Feminist Network of Jurists and served as director of the NGO #MeRepresenta (2018-2021). Due to her involvement in these activities, she participated in the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on "Civic Activism in Democratic Process" in 2019.
