Ana Paula Almeida Bastos holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Brasília (2004) and received a Ph.D. in Sciences (2010) from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo. Ana completed postdoctoral training at the same institution (20102013) and later at the University of Brasília (20132014). Since 2014, she has been a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA). Ana Paula is a Full Professor in the Graduate Program in Veterinary Sciences at the State University of the Central-West (Campus Guarapuava) and at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFC-Concordia).Ana Bastos is a member of the Brazilian Society of Immunology and serves on the Steering Committee of the National Institute of Science and Technology for 3D Printing and Advanced Materials Applied to Human and Animal Health (INCT-3D Saúde). She has experience in the fields of tissue engineering and immunology, with a focus on the following areas: establishment of animal cell lines for cell-based food production, vaccine efficacy and potency testing, development of nanotechnology-based vaccines, passive immunization (via colostrum and serotherapy), and immunological ontogeny in swine.Bastos is currently the coordinator of a FINEP-funded project for the development of cultivated chicken, pork, and beef. Ana also serves as the national manager and coordinator in Brazil of the Innovet-AMR II project (IDRC Bill Melinda Gates Foundation), which aims to scale up an in-ovo nanovaccine to protect broiler chickens against avian colibacillosis.
