I am a native of Rio de Janeiro, from the now extinct State of Guanabara. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 1984). I obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics Education from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 1992) and a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Methodologies and Didactics from the University of São Paulo (USP, 1998). I have conducted studies and received training in psychoanalysis at the Brazilian School of Psychoanalysis in São Paulo. Currently, I work as a Research Professor and Dissertation Supervisor in the Graduate Program in Teaching for Sciences, Technologies, Engineering, and Mathematics at the Guaíba Unit of the University of Rio Grande do Sul (UERGS). My research area within the PPGSTEM is "Epistemology and Methodologies in Teacher Education." I collaborate with other researchers on teaching, learning, and teacher education from the perspective of the Hegel-Marx-Lacan theory (HML) in Mathematics Education. I am affiliated with the following academic societies and groups: (1) Brazilian Society for Mathematics Education (SBEM), (2) Brazilian Computing Society (SBC), (3) Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC), (4) Mathematics Education and Society Community, and (5) The International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME). I lead the research group "Differential Action Research and Educational Products," certified by CNPq at UERGS. Additionally, I am a member of the "Jacques Lacan Seminars Study Group."
