Has a degree in Medicine from the University of São Paulo (1989) and a PhD in Urology from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (1996). He is a free professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (2001), Chef Setor de Urologia Pediátrica de esta Instituição from 1996 to 2015. CNPQ researcher with research productivity level 2 in the third grant awarded (2023-2026). Author of the book-text "Urologia Pediátrica" #8203;#8203;and other three books, he is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Urology, International Braz J Urol and ad-hoc reviewer FAPESP and CNPQ. Visiting Professor at the University of California in São Francisco, USA (2012), Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (2016) Temple University, Philadelphia, USA (2017), Indiana University (Riley Hospital), USA (2018) was considered a top reviewer. Ten of the Journal of Pediatric Urology in 2011. Associate editor of the Journal of Pediatric Urology since 2015, member of the editorial board of the Journal of Urology in the area of #8203;#8203;Pediatric Urology since 2013 and member of the UNIFESP Research Ethics Committee since 2010. Creator of NUPEP (www.nupep.org.br), author of 4 original surgical techniques published abroad for reconstruction of bexiga, hypospadias and treatment of severe fecal incontinence. There are currently 41 fellows in Pediatric Urology, 26 postgraduates with 5 Masters and 21 doctors, responsible for Pediatric Urology in 7 Brazilian universities, two of these also being free-teaching professors. Idealizer and president of CACAU (Children's Support Center with Urological Anomaly: www.cacau.org.br) an OSCIP rebuilt by the Ministry of Justice to support children in urological treatment, which maintains a support house for children in treatment at the São Paulo Hospital e Clinical Center with free care. Founder of the SIG Pediatric Urology of RUTE: Rede Universitária de Telemedicina that integrates more than 15 centers in mensais scientific meetings, and member of the national management council of RUTE.
