Graduated in Medicine (1981) with a medical residency in Pediatric Surgery (1985) at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP). A Masters degree (2000) and a PhD (2005) in Oncology Sciences were completed at the Antônio Prudente Foundation. Since 2011, the role of Director of the Department of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the A.C.Camargo Cancer Center in São Paulo has been held, along with leadership of the Multidisciplinary Team for Vascular Tumors at the same institution. Elected to the board of the Brazilian Association of Pediatric Surgery, with roles including Treasurer (20192021) and Vice President (20222024).Expertise in Medicine is demonstrated, with a focus on teaching, research, and clinical practice related to vascular tumors and malformations. The primary areas of focus encompass infantile hemangioma, congenital hemangiomas (RICH and NICH), kaposiform hemangioendothelioma, pyogenic granuloma, capillary malformation, venous malformation, lymphatic malformation, and arteriovenous malformation. Expertise in the differential diagnosis of these conditions integrates clinical, imaging, histopathological, and genomic evaluations. Proficiency extends to advanced treatment options, including surgery, dye laser therapy, intralesional administration of agents such as OK432 and bleomycin, as well as systemic therapies like propranolol and targeted treatments such as sirolimus.Membership in the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA).
