Graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Vale do Paraíba (1991), master's degree in Physics from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA (1995) and doctorate in Physics from ITA (2004). He joined the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in 1985 and currently holds the position of Senior Technologist. His experience in Physics has an emphasis on Plasma Physics and Electrical Discharges, acting mainly on the following topics: surface engineering using plasmas and plasmas diagnostics. Special performance and interest in the treatment of metals and metal alloys used in the aerospace sector (AA6xxx, Ti6Al4V, SS304, Nb, Mo, NiTi). He is currently the coordinator of the Ionic Implantation in Plasma area at INPE's Associated Plasma Laboratory (LAP). He is also an effective member of the LAP scientific council and permanent professor of the Postgraduate Course in Space Engineering and Technology - concentration area: Materials and Sensors Science and Technology.
