Graduated in Medicine at São Paulo University (1987), Master (MSc) Degree at São Paulo Federal University (1992). Doctorate (PhD) at São Paulo University (1999). Has experience in Medicine, focusing in dermatology and acting on the following sub-areas: dermatologic surgery, cutaneous oncology (basalcell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma) and photodynamic therapy. Dr Castro has vast experience in advisory boards, clinical trials and consultancy for pharmaceutic industry. Dr Castro is a member of several International Scientific Societies such as American Academy of Dermatology, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, Colégio Ibero-latinoamericano de Dermatologia, European Nail Society, International Society of Dermatology, International Dermoscopy Society, is a founding member of the Brazilian Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Brazilian Melanoma Goup (GBM) and was recently been indicatedVice-president of the International Society of Dermatology Dr Castro acted as secretay of the Oncology Department of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (2013-14) and was elected for the Scientific Council of the Society in 2017 for a 6-year term. He is the 1st author of the recently published Brazilian Guidelines on Primary Cutaneous Melanoma. Dr Castro was elected several times to take part at the Council of both Brazilian Dermatology Society and Brazilian Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Presently he acts as head of the Cutaneous Oncology Group at the German Hospital in São Paulo and has a private clinic. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
