Aguinaldo Silva Garcez Segundo

Aguinaldo S Garcez Segundo holds a degree in Dentistry from the University of Taubaté (1995), is a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry from EAP-APCD (2000), a Specialist in Clinical Microbiology from the Brazilian Society of Microbiology (2019), a Specialist in Sports Dentistry from the Ibero-American Faculty (2024), a Master in Laser Dentistry from the University of São Paulo/IPEN (2002), and a Ph.D. in Sciences in the field of Nuclear Technology from IPEN/CNEN-SP (2007).He is currently a Researcher and Professor for undergraduate and graduate courses at São Leopoldo Mandic College. He coordinates the Department of Oral Microbiology, the Laser Laboratory at São Leopoldo Mandic College, and is an Assistant Professor in the Masters Program in Orthodontics at the São Leopoldo Mandic Research and Graduate Center.He coordinates the Innovation Technology Center (NIT-SLMandic) and is a member of the Board of the Professional Masters Program at São Leopoldo Mandic College.In his field, he is a board member of the Brazilian Association of Sports and Exercise Dentistry (ABOEE), a member of the Brazilian Association of Laser in Dentistry and Health (ABLOS), a member of the International Photodynamic Association, a scientific board member of the Journal of Endodontics, and an editorial board member of the journal Photobiomodulation, Photomedicine, and Laser Surgery. He also served on the Technical Chamber of Laser Therapy at CRO-SP for three terms.He is a Level 2 researcher at CNPq, with a Productivity in Technological Development and Innovative Extension scholarship. He is the lead researcher for projects funded by FAPESP and CNPq.He was a visiting researcher at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School, and he actively collaborates with national and international researchers. He serves as an ad hoc advisor for funding agencies in Brazil and abroad and collaborates on projects with national and international companies, aiming at technology transfer in the areas of Lasers and Orthodontics.He has published four books and multiple book chapters in collaboration with professionals in Dentistry, Nursing, Physics, and Speech Therapy. He is the author of several articles in the field of Dentistry and Lasers.He practices in a private clinic in Valinhos, specializing in general dentistry, sports dentistry, and aesthetics.He gives lectures and courses on mouthguards, acidic diets, dental erosion, and light-based technologies for researchers and health professionals. He works on developing light-assisted products and processes for therapy and diagnosis.
