Associate Professor at the School of Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA). He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNICAMP (2001), where he also obtained his Masters and Ph.D. degrees. He conducted a research internship at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, through the PDEE-CAPES program. He served as an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of ABC and as a collaborating researcher at the School of Chemical Engineering at UNICAMP. He was a senior visiting researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, from 2012 to 2015, and has continued to collaborate there as a researcher and lecturer in graduate programs. He has been a CNPq research productivity fellow since 2016 and has an extensive scientific output, with numerous articles published in high-impact international journals. His areas of expertise include computational modeling and optimization of energy systems, process integration methods, and techno-economic and environmental analysis of biorefineries.
