Paulo Roberto Britto Guimaraes

Holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1982), Masters in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1991) and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering - University of Leeds, England (1995). He is currently Superintendent of Economic Development at the Secretariat of Industry, Commerce and Mining of the State of Bahia. In addition, he is professor at the University Salvador - UNIFACS, where he is a researcher, a lecturer at the Undergraduate Course in Chemical Engineering, the Masters Program in Energy and the Multiinstitutional Doctorate in Chemical Engineering (UFBa / UNIFACS), in which develops research on technological and regulatory issues on energy, natural gas, fuel, and biofuels, is Technical Coordinator of the Fuel Quality Monitoring Program - PMQC of the National Regulatory Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels - ANP, in the state of Bahia, since 1999.. Is a full member of the Board of Trustees of Fapesb - Foundation for Research Support of the State Commission Bahiada Laboratory of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas - IBP Regional Council of Chemistry Bahia - CRQ 7a.Região, the Ethics Research Committee (CEP) and the Managing Committee of ANP/PRH-23 - Training Program in Oil and Gas in partnership with ANP. Worked, between 1983 and 1989 as a process and project engineer at Fertilizantes Nitrogenados (FAFEN-BA/Petrobras) plant, as research-fellow at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Campinas - UNICAMP (1996) and the Department of Chemical Engineering, Federal University of Bahia - UFBa (1997). He has also held, between March 2000 and September 2009, the position of Head of the Department of Engineering and Architecture at the University Salvador - UNIFACS, where he was a member of the Board of Education and Research (CONSEPE) and University Council (CONSUNI) and served between March 1998 and February 2001, as Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering. He has experience in Chemical Engineering, with emphasis on Petroleum and Petrochemicals, at which he has undertaken consultancy and research, particularly in projects related to catalysis, thermodynamics, modeling and simulation, fuel, oil and regulation of the oil industry. He has a patent registered, more than 20 publications in national and international refereed journals and more than 60 papers presented at national and international scientific conferences. Moreover, since 2000, has coordinated and / or participated in several research and engineering projects in these areas, with financing from companies (Petrobras, Braskem, Ford etc) as well as federal (MCT / CNPq / FINEP / CTPetro and ANP ), and state agencies (Fapesb).
