Sr. Melnikov has two unioversity degrees: in Medicine and in Chemistry, borth from Moscow State Universities. Clinical specialization - geriatrician. PhD in Chemistry. Holds the title of Chief Researcher at Moscow Lomonosov University. Has extensive experience in the field of Inorganic Chemistry, with an emphasis on scandium and lanthanide coordination compounds, biomaterials and inorganic materials, including high tech sensors for space research. Specialist in Thermal Analysis, X-Ray Diffractometry, Electron Microscopy and Molecular Modeling. In Medicine, acts in the area of mineral metabolism and trace element ecotoxicology, mainly related to: rare earths, lanthanides, metabolism of copper, zinc, selenium and other bioactive elements, orthopedic biomaterials, dressings containing gallium, transition metal complexes with Viagra and chemical environmental risks. He supervised a large number of scientific initiation, master's and doctoral researches. Published more than 170 research papers and more than 22 patents. Speaks 5 languages. Worked in the US, France, Spain and Cuba. Recently, he was a visiting foreign full professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul where he still finalizes coorientation of students.
