She has a degree in Foreign Languages #8203;#8203;and Literatures at Università degli Studi di Bari (German / English) and in Translation at Ruprecht-Karls Universität de Heidelberg (German / Italian / Portuguese). Master in Italian Language and Literature and PhD in Linguistics were completed at the University of São Paulo (USP). In 2010-11, she developed a postdoctoral research at the Università degli Studi di Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy (fellow Capes) in pragmatics. She is currently a PhD Professor (MS-3 - level 2) at the University of São Paulo, where she works in undergraduate and graduate courses (master's degree and doctorate). Her main research interests are in the area of #8203;#8203;Linguistics and Italian Language. She works mainly in the following subjects: Pragmatics, Acquisition / learning of second languages, Teaching Italian as L2, Narrative and discursive semiotics, Intercomprehension in Romance languages, migration and Brazil-Italy relations. She coordinated the graduate program "Língua, Literatura e Cultura Italianas". She was president of the Brazilian Association of Teachers of Italian (Associação Brasileira dos Professores de Italiano - ABPI - 2019-2024) and is now a member of the board. She is also a member of the board of the International Association of Teachers of Italian (Associazione Internazionale dei Professori di Italiano - AIPI) and a member of other scientific associations of the area. She is director of the Research Group Interlanguage, cross-cultural and intercultural Pragmatics (GPP) and of the Research Group Language, Identity and Memory: the Italian of the Italians of Brazil (GLIM), and also a researcher at LEER (Laboratory of Studies on Ethnicity, Racism and Discrimination at the University of São Paulo) and of the project "Deslocamentos humanos: narrativas e representações" (Fapesp - processo n. 2018/10053-8). She is the researcher responsible for the Fapesp project "The speech act of requesting from the perspective of contrastive pragmatics: a plurilingual and multicultural approach" (process n. 2022/05865-9). She is also co-founder of the GT at ANPOLL "Estudos Pragmáticos" and of the Brazilian Association of Pragmatics (Associação Brasileira de Pragmática). She coordinates the double doctoral degree agreement with the Sapienza/Rome Tre Doctorate in Linguistics, as well as several other academic cooperation agreements with Italian universities.
