Vânia Mara Alves Lima

Graduated in Librarianship and Documentation, University of São Paulo (1985), master's degree in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1998) and a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2004). PhD Professor, Department of Information and Culture, University of São Paulo. It develops research in the area of information science and Lirarianship more specifically in the organization and representation of information and knowledge to the topics: documentary languages , terminology,controlled vocabulary, ontologies and information retrieval. Member of the Art Libraries Society of North America since 2015 and of the São Paulo Art Network, REDARTE_SP since 2016. Researcher associated with the Research Group CNPq "Representations: Imaginary and Technology" (RITe) linked to the Center de Recherches Internationales sur L'Imaginaire CRI2i. Researcher associated with the Research Group CNPq Knowledge organization and representation. Researcher associated with the Research Group CNPq Laboratory of Epistemological and Methodological Studies of Information Scienc. She was Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Library Science at ECA USP from 2009 to 2013. From October 2017 to October 2019 was Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Information Science of the School of Communications and Arts of the University of Sao Paulo. From March 2019 to March 2021 is President of the Graduate Committee of the School Of Communications and Arts of the University of Sao Paulo. From 2023 to 2024 she was a Member of the Culture and Outreach Committee of ECA USP. Currently, is a collaborating researcher in the thematic project funded by Fapesp ARQUIGRAFIA 4.0, where develops its Knowledge Organization System, for the representation and retrieval of information in images of Architecture and Urban Spaces. Together with the São Paulo Art Libraries Network-REDARTE-SP develops the Collaborative Vocabulary of Art and Architecture, from which collaborates with the translation of the Art and Architectural Thesaurus of the Getty Research Institute into Portuguese.
