Associate Professor of Obstetrics at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). She obtained her medical degree (2003) and completed her Medical Residency (2006) at Unicamp, followed by a Masters degree (2008) and a PhD (2011) in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same institution. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship abroad at Washington University (20142016) in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. After returning to Brazil, she established a Placental Biobank at CAISM-Unicamp and has been working to advance translational research involving maternal morbidity, preeclampsia, and emerging viruses.She is the Director of International Relations of the Brazilian Network for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (RBEHG), a member of the National Committee of Experts (CNE) of FEBRASGO (Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) in Hypertension in Pregnancy, a member of the CNE-TEGO (participating in the development of the specialist certification exams in Gynecology and Obstetrics), and a member of the Board of SOGESP (Coordinator of Accredited Representatives from the Interior of the São Paulo Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics). She is the Brazilian representative at the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP) and Global Co-Chair of ISSHP.She served as Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at FCM-Unicamp (20212025) and is a member of the Steering Committee of the LID/HUB/WHO Project at the Center for Reproductive Health Studies of Campinas (CEMICAMP). She has acted as a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) on issues related to childbirth care and preeclampsia and is part of the group of experts of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee (MSAC) of the WHO Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC) Network, working on the update and revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11).To date, she has supervised 11 Masters dissertations (and co-supervised other 7), 6 PhD theses (and co-supervised other 5), 2 postdoctoral fellows, 9 undergraduate final projects, and 31 undergraduate research projects.
