He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2003, his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2014, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2017, all from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He completed his undergraduate studies among the top 10 students in his class and obtained a Certificate of Studies in Electric Power Systems. He lived for over a year in Dresden, Germany, where he gained international experience during his undergraduate studies. From 2003 to 2012, he worked in the market as a field and application engineer for private companies and manufacturers of protection relays. During this period, he was also responsible for protection philosophy courses, equipment training, and worked with real-time simulator studies. His main research areas include transformer protection, protection and control of regular and half-wavelength transmission lines, development of protection and control algorithms, electromagnetic transient studies, and real-time simulation. From 2017 to 2025, he was a higher education professor at the Federal University of Technology Paraná (UTFPR), Curitiba Campus, and a member of the Graduate Program in Energy Systems (PPGSE). Since 2025, he has opened his own engineering company, FGSM Engenharia, focused on training for the Electric Power System (EPS) protection area and consulting in the same field.
