She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), a master's degree in Linguistics (Unicamp, 2008) and a degree in Anthropology, Latin American Studies and Linguistics from the Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin, 2004). She was also an associate researcher in the area of #8203;#8203;linguistic documentation at the Goethe University of Frankfurt Main/Germany, linked to the ALSP project: Aché Language Studies Project (funded by the Volkswagen Foundation - DoBeS Program, 2008-2014).She currently works as a junior researcher at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Minho, in Braga, Portugal, a position funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal). She works mainly in the following areas: documentary linguistics, morphology, syntax, phonology, generative linguistics, historical and comparative linguistics, contact linguistics, Tupi-Guarani languages, indigenous languages, indigenous rights, indigenous education.
