Antonia Regina Ferreira Furegato

Public Health Nursing graduated (1972), Master (1978), PhD (1986), Free Professor (1993) and Full Professor (1996) from the Ribeirão Preto School of Nursing at São Paulo University EERP/US. She served as a teacher, researcher and advisor for research and extension projects. In managerial and administrative activities, leading the creation of a Specialization Course in Mental Health as well as Doctorate couse in Psychiatric Nursing at the Ribeirão Preto School of Nursing. She actively participated from 1973 to 2010, having been Head of EPCH Department, at EERP USP, where, after retiring, he was a Senior Collaborating Professor, until 2024. She received the Professor EMERITUS title, from USP, in 2019. She has 192 full articles published, in Periodicals, Annals of Events, Books and Book Chapters. 12 of these, were awarded at national and international events. Her projects were supported by research funding bodies (USP, CNPq-Produtivity in research, FAPESP, PRODOC and Universal). She participated in 261 conferences and similar (national and international) with abstracts and works published in full, gave lectures and made other contributions at these events. She mentored more than 92 undergraduate students, specialists, masters and pHd. She participated in 361 judgement trials, defenses and awards. She was a member of Editorial Boards. She is an AD HOC Consultant for several national and international Scientific Journals. She is a scientific consultant for funding agencies and teaching and research entities (state and federal). She directly collaborated in the implementation of the doctorate and the creation of the REAS magazine, at the Federal University of Triangulo Mineiro, as a Visiting Professor. Her professional experience covers: mental health policies and practices with vulnerable groups; - human resources, management and specialized care in multidisciplinary teams, like RAPS; - interpersonal relationships, in nursing care and teaching, especially with regard to severe illnesses such as depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Participated in studies and practices of research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative), studies of social representations in health and nursing. Member of ABEN, since 1972, SIGMA Internacional and of the WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing Research, since 1996, as well as of the EERP/USP Working Group for the development of Curricular Guidelines (DCN) for Brazilian Nursing.
