Daniel Added is a physician who graduated from the University of São Paulo's (USP) Faculty of Medicine, where he was part of the 101st Class. During his studies, he distinguished himself by achieving the highest grade average in Internal Medicine and the third highest overall weighted average in his class. He was honored with the Prof. Antonino Rocha Award at graduation, recognizing students who excel in Internal Medicine, and also earned first place in the inaugural Brazilian Internal Medicine Olympiad, organized by the Federal Council of Medicine, involving universities from across the country.In his final year of medical school, Daniel ranked first in the selection process for the USP-Harvard Exchange Program, which granted him the opportunity to participate in a Clinical Clerkship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, funded by a scholarship from Banco Santander. He was later accepted for a one-year research fellowship at the same institution, but chose to pursue other professional and academic paths in Brazil.After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital das Clínicas of USP, Daniel took on the role of preceptor at the University Hospital of USP in 2022. He is currently a Tenured Attending Physician at the same hospital, where he supervises and mentors students and residents in various areas, including the Emergency Department, Outpatient Clinics, Wards, and the Intensive Care Unit. His work reflects his commitment to medical education and the development of new professionals, remaining dedicated to his own pursuit of knowledge while encouraging others to do the same, with a focus on developing a strong and in-depth clinical reasoning.In addition to his work at the University Hospital of USP, Daniel has experience in the private sector, having worked at the Heart Hospital (HCor), the Hospital 9 de Julho, and as an ICU attending physician at the São Luiz Hospital in Osasco. These roles have provided him with a deep understanding of the challenges and demands in various healthcare settings.In the field of Medical Education, Daniel served as Coordinator of Internal Medicine at the MedCof residency exam preparatory course between 2021 and 2022. He is also an Online Preceptor and shareholder in the startup WeDoc, a company that seeks to transform healthcare through technology. Additionally, he is part of the faculty of the Emergency Medicine Postgraduate Program at the University of São Caetano do Sul (USCS).Daniel is currently in the final stages of his Cardiology residency at the Heart Institute (InCor) of USP and is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Lipids at InCor, where he conducts research focused on cardiovascular diseases. His main interests include Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, Cardiology, Medical Education, and Healthcare Management. He strives to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, with the constant goal of improving patient care quality and promoting innovation in healthcare.Daniel deeply believes in the importance of continuous medical education and the central role of ethics and empathy in patient care. His educational approach is aimed at stimulating the pursuit of knowledge, respecting the individuality of students, and fostering a genuine interest in clinical reasoning in Internal Medicine.
