Diego Felipe Alves Batista

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2010 at Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Brazil, I started the Master course in Agricultural Microbiology in 2011 at School of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences from São Paulo State University (FCAV/Unesp) campus at Jaboticabal, Brazil. The research project was developed in the area of bacterial genetics, under Professor Angelo Berchieri Junior and Dr. Oliveiro Caetano de Freitas Neto supervision, and aimed to shed light on the basis of pullorum disease and fowl typhoid pathogenesis. The Master's degree was earned in 2013, the same year that I started the Doctorate course at the same institution and under the same supervision. At this stage, we aimed at evaluating the influence of the differential gene decay taking place in Salmonella Pullorum and S. Gallinarum genomes on their pathogenicities to susceptible chickens. The Doctor's degree was earned in 2017 and counted with a trainee period (2015-2016) in The University of Nottingham (2015-2016), in the United Kingdom, under Professor Paul A. Barrow supervision. In 2017, I joined the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Brazil, as a post-doctorate fellow under Dr. Tatiane Alves da Paixão and Professor Renato de Limas Santos supervision and since then I have been working in projects that aimed to understand several aspects of Listeriosis and Brucellosis infections in domestic animals and human.
