Oséias Teixeira da Silva

PhD in Geography at the University of São Paulo, under the guidance of Professor Sandra Lencioni, I developed a research on contemporary spatial restructuring based on two of its main elements: the metropolitan dispersion and the reconfiguration of the metropolitan centrality. In this work we point to a process of spatial restructuring in progress in this metropolitan region, from the expansion of the dispersion of the urban fabric and the emergence of new centralities in the metropolitan space. Master in Geography by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, under the guidance of Professor William Ribeiro da Silva, I developed a research on the relationship between the performance of real estate developers and urban centrality. Among my main areas of activity are Urban and Economic Geography. Among the topics developed throughout my academic career are: the performance of real estate developers; real estate production and financialization of the economy; new centers and centralities; urban dispersion and spatial restructuring. Since September 2014, I have been working as an EBTT professor at the Federal Fluminense Institute (IFF), Campus Macaé, in an exclusive dedication, an institution in which I have been developing research projects related to the urban and economic transformations associated with the dynamics of the oil economy in Macaé and in the its surroundings, especially in relation to the conformation, from this dynamics, of an urban agglomeration around the municipality of Macaé and also in relation to the functioning of the real estate market in the cities that are part of this agglomeration.
