Gustavo Capatti Cassiano is currently an Auxiliar Researcher at the Medical Parasitology Unit of the Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical at the Universidade de Lisboa (IHMT-NOVA) and a member of the Global Health and Tropical Medicine (GHTM) center, specializing in Chemoinformatics. Gustavo earned his PhD in Genetics from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in 2014. He then completed two postdoctoral fellowships, one at the Universidade de Campinas (2016-2019) and another at IHMT-NOVA (2020-2022). Currently, his primary research focuses on Computer-Assisted Drug Design, with the goal of discovering new drug candidates for neglected tropical diseases, particularly malaria.
