Dr. Isaac Galobardes obtained a BEng and a MSc degrees in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain. He continued his studies in the Department of Construction Engineering of the UPC where he obtained his PhD for the study entitled: 'Characterization and Control of Wet Mix Sprayed Concrete with Accelerators'. Shortly after, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil. In April 2016, he got a Lecturer position in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), China. His research interests include Special Concretes such as, Fiber Reinforced Concrete, Sprayed Concrete and Recycled Aggregate Concrete, regarding material characterization, control, and structural application.
