Luvel Garcia Leyva

Pedagogue, critic and theatrical researcher of Cuban origin. Graduated as a Bachelor of Performing Arts, theater theory, from the Facultad de Artes Escénicas of the Universidad de las Artes, Cuba (2004); master's degree (2015) - CAPES/FAPESP support- and doctorate (2020) - FAPESP support- in Performing Arts - Theater Pedagogy Area- from the University of São Paulo. He is also a Doctor of Science on Art (history, theory and criticism of the theater) from the Universidad de las Artes, Cuba (2020), in addition to having carried out post-doctoral research at the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo in the area of sociology of childhood (2023). He has worked in the field of International Cooperation in cultural and educational development projects for children and youth with European and Latin American entities. He was a professor at various artistic education institutions in Cuba. He was a Member of the World Executive Committee of the International Association for Theater/Drama and Education (IDEA 2010-2013). He was a professor at the School of Application of the Faculty of Education at USP. He is currently Professor of the Degree in Theater at UNESPAR-FAP. As a theater critic and researcher, he has been working mainly around the following themes: childhood, affections and contemporary scene, childhood and decoloniality, artistic processes with children in vulnerable contexts in Latin America, children's subjectivity.
