History Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Bachelor degree in Social Sciences (1991), Master in Social History (1995) and PhD (2000) in Social History from the State University of Campinas/UNICAMP. Silvio Romero Prize from the Ministry of Culture/Funarte/Museu Nacional do Folclore (2000), National Research Prize (National Archive/2007) and the Carioca Monograph Prize (2000) for her PhD dissertation. Visiting Professor at UCSD in 2006 and 2007. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in History at UFBA between 2020 and 2022. Cnpq Productivity Scholarship holder since 2010, wrote Nas Trincheiras da Cura: as diferentes medicinas no Rio de Janeiro Imperial (2002), Juca Rosa, um pai de Santo na Corte Imperial (2009) and, with Wlamyra Albuquerque, De que lado você samba? Raça, Política e Ciência na Bahia do pós-abolição (2021), among other titles. She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;History of Brazil, working mainly on History of 19th century Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, Slavery, Afro-Brazilian Religions, Popular Culture.
