Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Food Engineering from the University of Campinas (FEA/UNICAMP) in 1982. Currently serves as the Director of Science and Technology at the Institute of Food Technology (Ital), where she joined as a scientific researcher in 1983. Since 2002, she has been a member of Ital's Research Integrity and Ethics Committee, and since 2010, she has been part of the Technological Innovation Group at the same institution. She collaborates with graduate programs at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ/USP), the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, and the University of Campinas, at both the School of Food Engineering (FEA/UNICAMP) and the School of Chemical Engineering (FEQ/UNICAMP). She served as a visiting professor at the Mauá Institute of Technology from 1999 to 2015. She has coordinated numerous courses, training sessions, and seminars and is a frequent speaker at events and conferences in the field of packaging. Her academic output includes 70 articles published in national and international journals, 54 books and book chapters, and 142 papers presented at conference proceedings. She is currently the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Brazilian Journal of Food Technology, a reviewer for eight journals, and an ad hoc consultant for funding agencies. She has completed training at public and private institutions in the United States, Canada, Germany, and England. She has worked as an international consultant on plastic packaging and is an auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards. She has also served as a judge for national and international packaging awards. Her research work has focused on food packaging, with an emphasis on the barrier properties of plastic packaging, active and intelligent packaging, as well as vacuum and modified atmosphere packaging. She is a mentor in startup acceleration programs and contributed to the implementation of the Tropical Food Innovation Lab at Ital. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
