Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC). Centro de Engenharia, Modelagem e Ciências Sociais Aplicadas (CECS)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1993), a master's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1996), and a Ph.D. in Materials from Penn State University (2001). He did a sabbatical internship (postdoctoral) at the Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation and Commercialization at the University of Toledo, USA (2012/2013). From 2006 to 2017, he was a professor in the Department of Physics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. In August 2017, he was transferred (redistributed) to the Center for Engineering, Modeling, and Applied Social Sciences (CECS) at the Federal University of ABC. He works in the field of physics and materials engineering, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials and thin films (carbon nanomaterials, semiconductor oxide nanoparticles, thin oxide films). He studies their applications in heterogeneous catalysis, solar energy conversion, resistive memory, and gas sensors. His characterization studies focus on optical properties (ellipsometry and Raman) and transport properties. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
