Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Bahia (1998), Master in Veterinary Surgery from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001) and Ph.D. in Veterinary Surgery at Jaboticabal from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005). Since 2009 she has been a professor at the Federal University of Bahia and since 2010 she has been a professor at the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science in the Tropics at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (EMEVZ-UFBA). She received the title of specialist in veterinary ophthalmology by the Brazilian College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (CBOV). She was Vice-Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science in the Tropics, UFBA and member of the Deliberative Council of the Veterinary Hospital (Hospmev / UFBA). She currently coordinates the Residency Program in Internal Medicine for Domestic Carnivores (Hospmev / UFBA). She has experience in the field of Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Ophthalmology and Veterinary Clinic, works mainly on the following topics: eye, small animals, wild animals, ocular surface, biomaterials and implants for filling anophthalmic cavities and anesthesia. She is a reviewer of national and international journals and, since 2019, is an Associate Editor of BMC Veterinary Research. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
