Vera Lucia Fonseca de Camargo Neves

Biomedical (1984) with specialization in Medical Entomology, from the Pan American Health Organization - PAHO (1992). Master's degree (1999), Ph.D. (2004) and Post Doctorate (2015) in Public Health, from the Faculty of Public Health - USP. He has extensive experience in the area of Public Health with an emphasis on Epidemiology in field studies and control of diseases transmitted by arthropods and planorbids. She is a Senior Scientific Researcher, working in applied research since 1985 at the Superintendency of Endemic Disease Control until its extinction. In April/2022, she will join the team of researchers at the Pasteur Institute of São Paulo, of the State Department of Health of São Paulo, where she coordinates the Technical Epidemiology Group, linked to the Section of Diseases Linked to Vectors and Intermediate Hosts. Since 1999, as manager of the Leishmaniasis Study Group, she has been developing and coordinating research projects on leishmaniasis. She participated as a technical consultant and researcher on the team at the Center for Disease Control-CCD (2004-2008) and the Epidemiological Surveillance of the State of São Paulo (2008-2010). Since 2003, she has been a member of the team of technical consultants of the Epidemiological Surveillance Coordination of the Brazilian Ministry of Health in the area of leishmaniasis and in 2011 she joined the PAHO, World Health Organization-WHO advisory group, as an occasional consultant. Since 2017 she has been a researcher responsible for Sucen's Institutional Development and Technological Innovation Plan, with funding source FAPESP n 2017 / 50345-5 (2017-current).
