Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a Master's degree in Ecology, both from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo. She is an Assistant Professor at the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo, where she conducts research related to the description, ecology, and biology of fish eggs and larvae in the Laboratory of Early Life Stages of Fish Ecology. Her goal is to understand how physical and biological factors operate at different spatial and temporal scales and affect the distribution, growth, and mortality of early life stages of fish. She is also interested in educational projects, science communication, and ocean literacy linked to university extension projects. She is the co-founding editor of the marine science communication platform Bate-Papo com Netuno ("Chat with Neptune") and one of the organizers of the exhibition Pequenos Notáveis ("Remarkable Little Ones Stories of microscopic beings that sustain life in the ocean").
