Birthplace: Brazil

Agricultural Engineer (2007-2011) and Master of Science in Agronomy - Soil Science (2012-2014) at UFRRJ. PhD in Agronomy at CENA/USP (2014-2018), with a dissertation focused on root dynamics and organic matter in integrated crop-livestock and livestock-forestry systems. Completed postdoctoral research at DVPROD/CENA/USP (2018-2019), investigating the isotopic signature of methane and soil microbiota in forest-to-pasture conversion in the Amazon. Served as a Temporary Professor at UFPR (2019-2020), teaching courses on rural construction, environmental control, and protected environments for plant production. Additionally, served as Collaborating Professor III at DVECO/CENA/USP (2021-2022), lecturing on ecosystem pollution and isotopic ecology. At DVECO/CENA, led three postdoctoral research projects: (i) Organic matter, methane, and soil microbiota in Atlantic Forest reforestation (2020-2022); (ii) Greenhouse gas fluxes in crop-livestock and crop-livestock-forest integration systems in Brazil (2023-2024); (iii) Currently leading a pan-Amazonian analysis of organic carbon, pyrogenic carbon, and soil respiration in intact and burned forests (2024-present). Completed specializations in Soil and Plant Nutrition (2020-2023, SolloAgro-ESALQ/USP) and an MBA in Data Science and Analytics (2021-2024, ESALQ/USP). Main areas of expertise: Organic matter dynamics, soil health, greenhouse gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, and N2O), carbon balance, stable isotopes of organic matter and greenhouse gases, root growth and decomposition dynamics, and pyrogenic carbon. His research focuses primarily on natural systems, land-use change, crop-livestock integration, crop-livestock-forest integration, forest restoration, and the edaphic impacts on fire-degraded forests.
