WMS is a Assistant Professor Doctor at Universidade Estadual Paulista in the Department of Bioprocesses and Biotechnology located on the Botucatu campus at the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences and professor of the Professional Master's Degree in Biomaterials and Bioprocess Engineering at Unesp at the Araraquara Campus. WMS completed his PhD in Space Engineering and Technologies at the National Institute for Space Research and did part of his PhD at Northwestern University in the Materials Science and Engineering Department, Illinois, USA. He has completed master's and scientific initiation guidelines, collaborations in a research project, coordinated a regular research project with funding from Fapesp, and a research project funded by the Pan American Health Organization in the development of bioremediation strategies in Lentic environments. In his career, he was Adjunct Professor IV and elected member of the Postgraduate Collegiate (Stricto Sensu) in Mechanical Engineering at PUCMINAS. Also acting as coordinator of the training axis of the disciplines of Materials and Manufacturing Processes (MMP) of the Undergraduate course in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution. He taught the disciplines related to the MMP training for Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering courses. Currently, he has a group of studies in Materials Science and Engineering at IBTEC of Unesp in Botucatu, where he guides students in scientific initiation and master's degrees, and is head of the department of bioprocesses and biotecnology - Unesp in Botucatu-SP.
