Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Física de São Carlos (IFSC) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Lorena RF de Sousa, is master's degree in Molecular Sciences (area of #8203;#8203;physical chemistry) from the State University of Goiás (UEG) (2011) and nd Doctor of Science (Organic Chemistry) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) (2015). The research master's (CAPES scholarship) was in Chemistry of Natural Products, which part was developed at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) through a sandwich program (market PROCAD / CAPES) within 8 months. She was a Ph.D student in organic chemistry with CNPq scholarship at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), whose research project involves the following subjects: Chemistry of Natural Products, isolation of plant secondary metabolites, characterization of compounds by spectroscopic techniques (NMR, IR, MS), enzyme kinetic study. She performed a Ph.D sandwich (CAPES scholarship) in Pharmacy and Biochemistry Institute in Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany (advisor Dr. Tanja Schirmeiter, 2013-2014), where she worked with the evaluation of natural products against the recombinant serine and cysteine #8203;#8203;proteases from virus and protozoa (Dengue, Chagas, Malaria, Leishmania). She is currently a postdoctoral at the University of São Paulo - USP in Sao Carlos, which research project involves the discovery and planning of Plasmodium falciparum enolase inhibitors in search of antimalarial agents.
