Leticia Ribeiro de Assis

Pharmacist with 7 years of experience as a researcher in chemistry, specializing in Medicinal Chemistry. During the Master's and PhD in Chemistry (2015-2022) at Universidade Estadual Paulista, focused on the synthesis of organic compounds of medicinal importance. Planned, synthesized, and characterized various innovative substances with potent antibacterial, antimycobacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, contributing to Structure-Activity Relationship studies and pharmacological activity optimization, as well as the identification of hits and leads. Author of fourteen (14) scientific publications in the area of new antimicrobials. Co-supervised two undergraduate research students and five dissertations during the PhD. Taught Organic Chemistry for the Biological Sciences course at UNESP/IBILCE for two semesters.From November 2022 to June 2024, worked as a Research and Development Analyst at Products and Features Brasil, under CLT regime, focusing on medical devices. Responsible for developing and reviewing protocols and reports on the safety and efficacy testing of transcatheter heart valves and bovine pericardium. Coordinated biocompatibility and toxicology tests with international laboratories to ensure the selection of biocompatible materials. Actively participated in research projects involving bovine pericardium, including decellularization, crosslinking, and drug coating.
