Wesley Mendes, a founder of the Brazilian Society of Finance, holds a Habilitation (2015) and a Ph.D. in Business Administration (2010) from FEA/USP. He has been a Research Affiliate at the University of Illinois and UC Irvine since 2015. He served as a Visiting Professor at BYU (2014-2015) and UT Austin (2017-2018). A faculty member at FGV/EAESP since 2011, he supervises Master's and Ph.D. students in Finance and has received awards for his work in Brazil and abroad, focusing on capital markets and corporate finance. He advises agencies such as FAPESP, SSHRC (Canada), and NCN (Poland). An academic leader, he is a co-author of books and an Associate Editor and Reviewer for journals such as *Emerging Markets Review* and *Journal of Business Ethics*. He was Editor-in-Chief of *RAC* (2018-2021), pioneering Open Science initiatives. His research explores financial innovations in ESG, financial decisions, and social networks. In the private sector, he works as a consultant and board member (e.g., Vibra Energia, 2022-2024), focusing on governance and ESG. He coordinated the Governance Committee at IBEF/SP (2013-2015) and holds Independent Board Member certification.
