Leonardo La Serra

Biologist with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Barão de Mauá University Center (2008). Experience in Environmental Sciences, focusing on microbiological and physicochemical environmental analyses, gained during an internship at the São Paulo State Environmental Sanitation Company (CETESB) (2004-2009). Master's degree in Science from the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP), University of São Paulo (USP), in the field of Biomedical Investigation (2013). Technical training, holding a TT3 scholarship (FAPESP), at the Virology Research Center at FMRP (2015 - 2016). Doctorate in Science with projects involving the study of arboviruses in wildlife at the Virology Research Center - FMRP/USP (2023). Research collaborator in the field of hansenology (2020-2023). Proficient in molecular diagnostics (RT-qPCR and PCR), serological diagnostics (ELISA), virus isolation and cultivation, cell culture, handling of small animals in the laboratory, and collection of wildlife in the field.
