Graduated in History at the University of São Paulo. Holds a Master's degree in Social History from the same institution, obtained through a research on the role that honour, as a social value, played in Sparta during the Classical Period - supervised by Prof. Dr. Norberto Luiz Guarinello and funded by the São Paulo State Research Foundation. He is currently a PhD student at the same institution, conductiong a research on the use of the sea and the coastal regions of Laconia in the Classical Period, also funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation. He is a member of the Laboratory of Studies of the Roman Empire and the Ancient Mediterranean (USP) and of the Centre for Spartan and Peloponnesian Studies (University of Nottingham).
