Abstract
American Tegumentar Leishmanasis (ATL) can be caused by different species, such as L. (L.) amazonensis, L. (V.) braziliensis, L. (V.) guyanesis and L. (L.) shawi. This illness is considered polymorphous by the variety of lesions, being leishmaniotic ulcer the most common injury.
