Graduate at Medicina from Universidade Federal de Pelotas (1991). Training in Neurosurgery at University of Sao Paulo (RIbeirao Preto) from 1991 to 1995 (Sponsored by FAPESP). . Master's at Neurosurgery (2000) and PHD at Neurosurgery (2009) from Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Specialized in epilepsy surgery at Montreal Neurological Institute, from McGill University, between 2001and 2003, as a Clinic and Research Fellow (Sponsored by CNPq). Since 2003 is the neurosurgeon in charge by the Epilepsy and Functional Neurosurgery Program of the Department of Neurosurgery of Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Since 2010 is Professor of the Departament of Neurosurgery of Federal University of São Paulo.Head of Division of Neurosurgery of Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo between march 2013 and march 2017 . Nowadays is Advisor Professor of Post graduate program of Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, cientific coordinator of neuroanatomy Laboratory of Neurosurgery focusing the following subjects: Epilepsy Surgery and Functional Neurosurgery.
