Holds a licentiate and bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, Jaboticabal campus (UNESP/FCAV). Participated in the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID) Biological Sciences (20132015), working in the field of Science and Biology Education at a public state school. Was awarded undergraduate and master's research fellowships from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). Holds a masters and a Ph.D. in Biosciences, with an emphasis in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology, from the Graduate Program in Biosciences (UNESP/IBILCE São José do Rio Preto campus). Has experience in Mitochondrial Biology through the study of transgenic expression of the alternative oxidase (AOX) from Ciona intestinalis in Drosophila melanogaster, with investigations related to thermogenesis, respiration, and mitochondrial physiology.
