Graduated in MEDICINE from the Faculty of Medicine (FM) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) (1989), medical residency (internal medicine/cardiology) from the University of São Paulo (Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto) and a PhD in Medicine ( area of Cardiology and Clinical Electrophysiology) by the Escola Paulista de Medicina - Federal University of São Paulo (1997). She carried out postdoctoral work at the University of Barcelona (2001-2002) under the guidance of professors Dr. Josep Brugada and Dr. Lluis Mont. Since July 1998 she has been working as an adjunct professor at FM at UFMG and, since 2006, as an associate professor at the same faculty. Full Professor from March 2021 at the FM of UFMG. Advisor of the Graduate Program in Sciences Applied to Adult Health and the Graduate Program in Child and Adolescent Health Sciences (cardiovascular disorders line), both at FM UFMG. She was president of the arrhythmia committee of the Sociedade Mineira de Cardiologia in the 2010-2011 biennium and in the exercise of the same position in the 2014-2015 biennium. Fellowship European Society of Cardiology (FESC). Cochrane Membership 2016-2019. She has experience in the area of Medicine, with an emphasis on Cardiology, working mainly on the following subjects: syncope, tilt test, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiovascular diseases, spectral analysis of heart rate, pacemaker, chagasic heart disease and atherosclerosis / dyslipidemia.
