Graduated in Agronomic Engineering (Biotechnology) at University of São Paulo (2001) and received her Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ / USP) (2006). Spent one year with a sandwich PhD fellowship from Capes, at the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) in Toulouse, France (2005-06). During the following years (2007 - 2010) was a post-doctoral associate at the Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Toulouse, where she developed research in applied microbiology and fermentation technology and also worked as an assistant professor to undergraduate courses in Biochemical Engineering. For 2 years she was a post-doctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge MA, USA, where she develops projects to engineer a bacterial strain capable of producing isobutanol from CO2, H2 and O2. Currently, she is a Young Scientist at Federal university of Santa Catarina, wher she works on a project which aims the production of bioplastics from vinasse using the bacteria Cupriavidus necator. Besides, she orients under graduate students. Has experience in microbiology with emphasis on Genetics and Molecular and Microbial Fermentation. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
