As a Chief of Medical Digital and Data Officer, my experience and responsibilities include: * Oversee the continued use of the electronic health record and other clinical informatics systems, including analytics tools, to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. * Participate in the development and execution of the clinical improvement and development strategies, including clinical efforts for improved patient outcomes, reduce variations in care, and enhance physician engagement. * Serve as liaison to the clinical staff, medical executive committees, clinical department, and other constituents to use the informatics to promote clinical care. * Identify and pursue research and development initiatives to support quality and patient safety efforts. * Improve clinician adoption, acceptance and use of information technology while enhancing physician satisfaction with the clinical information system. * Manage the expectations of clinical information system end-users. * Provide direct clinical care as a physician to gain firsthand knowledge of the EMR and better appreciate the needs of the end-users. * Lead clinical advisory/workgroups to develop clinical pathways, order sets, rules and alerts, etc. * Educate medical staff on clinical and digital transformation and the need for developing clinical pathways, order sets, rules, and alerts, etc. * Respond to physician user needs, including training, to assure acceptance and encourage the use of clinical systems. * Translate physician needs to Information Services and assist in designing appropriate solutions.
