Masters degree in Sciences from the Clinical Medicine Program at FMUSP (2006), a PhD in Sciences from the Pathology Program at FMUSP (2010), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB) of the University of São Paulo (2020).She was awarded a regular research grant from FAPESP (grant number 17/26402-9) between 2019 and 2022, and served as project manager for FAPESP (11/12271-3) and CNPq (476392/2011-0) grants from 2011 to 2014. In 2024, she received a Visiting Researcher Grant from FAPESP (23/12643-5) to develop the project Air pollution as an aggravating factor in inflammatory processes in the brain and optic nerve: a metallomics approach, in collaboration with Imperial College London, investigating the effects of metal exposure from air pollution on the ocular and cerebral neural systems.Her scientific research focuses on the health impacts of air pollution, with an emphasis on the ocular surface and the nervous system, as well as the role of anti-VEGF agents in retinal vascular diseases. Her methodologies include in vitro models, experimental animals, and human autopsy studies. She has solid expertise in the fields of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
