Henrique Mohallem Paiva

Henrique Mohallem Paiva received the B.Sc. degree (with honors) in computer engineering and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. (with honors) degrees in electronics engineering, in the area of systems and control, from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), São José dos Campos, Brazil, in 2001, 2003, and 2005, respectively. In 2006, he spent a postdoctoral period at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He was nominated by ITA to the Brazilian Prize of Doctoral Theses as the author of the best Ph.D. Thesis in Electronics Engineering in 2005. He worked as a volunteer teacher for needy students between 1997 and 2006. He was with the Aerospace Systems, Mectron Engenharia between 2000 and 2003. Since 2003, he has been a System Engineer with the Brazilian aeronautics company EMBRAER, São José dos Campos. His main areas of interest are automatic control systems, signal processing, and digital simulations. Dr. Paiva is the recipient of six awards from EMBRAER for outstanding innovative industrial projects, which brought benefits higher than $800,000.00 per year for the company.
