My name is Silvana Amaral Kampel, but only Silvana Amaral for scientific reference. I am ecologist from Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP - Rio Claro), master in Remote Sensing, by National Institute for Space Research - INPE, and doctor in Engineering (Spatial Information area) at Escola Politécnica of the University of São Paulo (POLI-USP). Since 1995, I work as researcher at INPE`s General Earth Observation Coordination (OBT), Image Processing Division (DPI). I am interested in using geoinformation, remote sensing, spatial analysis, and environmental modeling to study socio-environmental systems, mainly concerning biodiversity and forest conservation, urbanization processes and human spatial distribution.
