Expert in projects of mitigation and recovery of degraded land, agroforest and food production aimed to promote food security. Her professional skills and professional interests include academic and commercial application of key knowledge on Geosciences and Geomatics focused on Earth System Modeling. Her most relevant topics of interest are land use and land cover dynamics, land active/passive assets and its interactions to sustainable food production, food and nutritional security, biomass estimates, statistics and cognitive methods for scenario development. B.Sc. degree in Physics at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, 1997. M.Sc. degree in Remote Sensing at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), 2000, Brazil. PhD in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation at Wageningen University, The Netherlands (2014). She has worked as a technician at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ) to monitor oil slicks in the Brazilian coast using SAR images from 2002 to 2004. She has worked as a consultant at Threetek Solções em Geomática (2004-2005). She has also worked as an assistant researcher at the National Institute for Space Research in a scientific and operational collaborative project to Planetary Skin Institute (CISCO) from 2010 to 2012. She worked as a Manager on Natural Disasters at the National Early Warning and Monitoring Centre of Natural Disaster from the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) between 2012 and 2015. She has finished a posdoc at CSST/INPE within DEVIL project (Fapesp 2014/50627-2) - Delivering Food Security on Limited Land (http://deliveringfoodsecurity.org/), which investigates how land use changes in the Brazilian Cerrado interact to the challenge of delivering food security now and in the future on limited area in Brazil and in countries that import Brazilian agricultural products. Since 2020 she has collaborated to INPE in the Monitoring Program by Satellite of the Brazilian Biomes - BiomasBR that runs the monitoring systems PRODES, DETER and TERRACLASS.
