Manuela Ramos Barbieri

Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (2000), master's degree in plant pathology from the same University (2003), doctorate in Clinical Medicine, Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (2009), and post-doctorate in Pediatrics and Child Care Faculty of Medicine, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She is a member of the group Nesca (Health Studies Center of Children and Adolescents), Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo. She has experience in the area of molecular biology. In the past appeared in the production of polyclonal antibodies in a heterologous system in Escherichia coli. She worked with plant viruses and then candidate genes head and neck carcinoma. She is currently working with analyzes of candidate gene polymorphisms in obesity, the regulation of pre- and postnatal growth and metabolic diseases in young adults, participants of the first cohort study of births in Brazil, started in 1978/79 in Ribeirão black, the State of São Paulo.
