He is currently working as a professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Porto Alegre and as a professor at the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering at the same department (PROMEC-UFRGS). Coordinator of the International Research Group for Energy Sustainability (IRGES), Vice-coordinator of the Combustion Laboratory at UFRGS (LC-UFRGS), and Vice-coordinator of the Fire Dynamics Laboratory at UFRGS (FireLab). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (FEG-UNESP) with funding from the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP). He has experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Transport Phenomena, working mainly in the areas of Gasification and Combustion. He holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (FEG-UNESP), and a degree in Engineering in Energy from the Universidad Nacional del Santa (UNS).
