Graduated in Chemistry with a Bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1986), a Master's degree in Electrochemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (1989) and a PhD in Chemistry from the Laboratoire Pour L'utilisation Du Rayonnement Electromagnetique (LURE) (1990-1993) in Orsay in France. He worked on the implementation of the first X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy line at LNLS in Campinas. She is currently a full professor at the Institute of Chemistry at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and was substitute Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry (2013-2014) (Concept 7 CAPES). He has experience with synchrotron light and is a specialist in the X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy technique, having worked mainly in the study of nanostructured materials and oxide and transition metal films.
